It's a good day

I went with my friend Rachelle and my stepmother to the Northwest Women's Show today. It was a wonderful time full of heavy crowds, inexplicable samples (fish oil pills, firming lotion, personal coaching, etc), and two really yummy food samples--Dreyer's ice cream and the Melting Pot. The strollers though, that's another story. There was almost a fight on the way in with a woman pushing a double stroller. Who brings a stroller to these things? Small aisles, thousands of people, and it's just plain inappropriate for kids. We singles are so much more manueverable that it's just silly for a mom with a double stroller to think she will win any kind of argument or race for the door.

But really it was fun. I have come home with a pedometer, a flyer about pole dancing lessons, and a card from a company that sells jewelry that is reproductions of pieces worn by celebrities. Note to E: my favorite by far is the diamond ring worn by Marilyn Monroe in Gentlemen Prefer Blondes--so pretty! Plus I have a very cool Marilyn wig and it would be awesome for Halloween.

It's an even better ending to the day because E is bbq'ing salmon for dinner while we sort through all the loot from the show. It's also snowing outside, so it's extra admirable of him to be out there. He says it's no big deal and he's seen much worse, but still, it's March 29th and he's out in the snow. Just one of many things that makes him a very cool guy.
